Since the year 1895 the Tulsa Golden Hurricane football program has represented the University of Tulsa in college football. This gridiron squad plays its home games at Skelly Field at H. A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In truth the team's first decade was under the banner of the Henry Kendall College until the move from Muskogee to Tulsa was completed in 1907 and a school name change soon thereafter. The list of coaches is extensive over the last century plus but includes legendary sideline bosses such as John Cooper, Bill Blankenship, Sam P. McBirney, and Buddy Brothers. Oh and the players that took the field for Tulsa include College Hall of Fame names like: Jim Finks , Steve Largent , Drew Pearson , and  Bob St. Clair.
